Child Care Services Funding

By Ronni Burkhart, Senior Budget Analyst | 3 months ago

Senate Bill (SB) 1108 provides $116 million for COVID Relief - Child Care Services. House Bill 2510 outlines that the funding is to be distributed based on the results of a study of the economic impacts of child care closures during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is an estimate of how the $116 million will be made based on the type of provider. Actual distributions will be determined by DHS based on DHS data, completion of attestations by providers, and are subject to appeal.

Amounts in excess of the $116 million made available through SB 1108, will be paid from unexpended Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding.
